The discovery of the mycelial network revolutionized the way we understand cooperation and competition within an ecosystem and challenged even the boundaries of what is considered a single organism. Fungi consistently defy our ability to categorize them. They are a symbol of transcendent nature and collective consciousness.

October art challenges with prompt lists have been a tradition in online art spaces since around 2009. In October of 2022 I created my challenge in honor of the subversive Kingdom Fungi.
